68 new music acts have been added to the line-up for the 50th edition of Roskilde Festival. Today's announcement also completes the line-up for emerging talents and presents the brand new scene Mantra.

There will be plenty to choose from on the stages when the 50th edition of Roskilde Festival finally takes place this summer.

With today's announcement of 68 new music acts, this year's festival poster will be the most voluminous ever. The total line-up contains over 290 artists in music, art and activism.

The new additions include three Danish premieres on Roskilde Festival's Arena stage. Among them is the new global pop star Anitta who has stormed the charts in her home country Brazil for a decade and most recently topped Billboard's international chart. With the album Visions of Me, she is now ready to put the festival site at her feet.

This summer's line-up also features young, versatile rapper Baby Keem from Las Vegas as well as R&B talent H.E.R. who is ready to take over Roskilde Festival with both love ballads and distinctive protest songs.

Roskilde Festival's program director, Anders Wahrén, says:

"We continue our focus on new, exciting stars. It is important for us that our line-up is diverse - also geographically. With a name like Anitta, we now see that new stars from areas like Latin America can perform on the biggest stages in Europe."

"I saw both Anitta and Baby Keem at Coachella this year and they were some of the best performing acts over there. Baby Keem stood all alone on stage and managed to captivate the audience without a lot of hype and equipment around him. I'm sure it is one of the concerts that will be really impressive this summer as well."

In this announcement you will also find the Scottish synth-pop trio CHVRCHES and their fellow countrymen in the alt-rock trio Biffy Clyro who will bring big guitar riffs to Roskilde.

The latest trends in the talent pool
From the stages Countdown and Rising, the festival-goers can experience many of the very latest acts from the musical talent pool in Denmark and the Nordic countries during the festival's opening days.

26 new acts join the line-up for emerging talents, which now counts 45 of the most interesting, new artists.

Anders Wahrén says:

"The programme on the stages Countdown and Rising is a really important part of Roskilde Festival because this is where you will find the names who will perform on the big stages in the future. The many lockdowns over the past two years have made it virtually impossible for new artists to meet an audience, and therefore we have spent more time on booking the programme this year so that we are sure to include the latest trends. I think we have succeeded and the programme for the festival's first days is incredibly varied this year."

Two new stages

This year, festival-goers can also look forward to experiencing concerts on the new stage Mantra.

The stage will be centrally located at the festival site, and from here you can hear music in the open air during the bright hours of the day from Wednesday.

Mantra joins the new hybrid stage Platform which is made in collaboration between the design company NLÉ Works and the internationally renowned German artist Tino Sehgal. Here you can experience curious, poignant and boundary-pushing art and music.

Thus, the festival will present 13 stages this year - 10 of which are music venues. That is more than there ever have been before.
