Doja Cat, Ice Spice, J Hus, and many more ready for Roskilde Festival 2024

The 52nd edition of Roskilde Festival will also feature Jungle, Lankum, Nia Archives, Brutalismus 3000, and Khruangbin. Today's 35 new additions also include the first batch of artists for the arts programme.

Roskilde Festival is running from 29 June to 6 July and will bring 130,000 people and music from across the globe to the 615-acre festival site just outside of Copenhagen.

Late last year, Northern Europe's biggest festival announced the first group of artists for the 2024 line-up, including Foo Fighters, Kali Uchis, Skrillex, and PJ Harvey, and today Roskilde Festival reveals another 35 artists to the billing.

Among the new acts is the American superstar Doja Cat. The 'Kiss Me More' and 'Paint The Town Red' rapper was on track to play Roskilde Festival in 2020, before the festival got cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"At long last, we're thrilled to bring Doja Cat to Roskilde Festival. In 2020, she was a star in the making, and in the meantime, she has arguably become the most hyped and popular rapper in the world. The years of waiting to bring her here is finally coming to an end", says Roskilde Festival's Head of Programme, Anders Wahrén.

Breakout star from Bronx
Speaking of stars in the making: Ice Spice is also coming to Roskilde Festival this summer. In just a few years, the Bronx rapper has gone from a viral phenomenon to an artist collaborating with some of the heaviest names in the industry like Taylor Swift and PinkPantheress. A breathtaking hit parade awaits in what will be her first Danish show.

The new batch of music acts also features the UK drill rapper J Hus, Germany's explosive post-techno-punk duo Brutalismus 3000, and Irish folk group Lankum, who's fourth album 'False Lankum' was hailed as the best album from 2023 by media outlets including The Guardian and The Quietus.

UK neo-soul duo Jungle will return to Roskilde Festival for a third time, nine years after Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland first performed at the festival. Their extraordinary bond with the Danish festival was last manifested five years ago, and this time Jungle will take on Roskilde Festival's biggest stage, Orange Stage.

Performance art in a unique setting
Finally, the first six names for the festival's art programme are revealed today.

Among them is the international duo Anansi's Web, who will do a new performance created specifically for the festival, while British star Matt Copson will live animate his enormous laser projections for the first time. Copson's credits include co-directing several of Caroline Polachek's music videos.

All six acts will be performing at Platform, Roskilde Festival's stage for boundary-pushing hybrid art.

"Festival participants should definitely visit the stage Platform. You may not know many of the acts performing here, but there is something very special about this intimate and unique setting, that gives room to experimental and interdisciplinary acts", says Anders Wahrén.
