Euromast

Rotterdam, June 2026 - For more than six decades, the Euromast has shaped Rotterdam's skyline. Originally built for the 1960 Floriade, the 185-metre tower has become a defining symbol of a city renowned for constantly reinventing itself.

This July, the Euromast reopens following a five-month renovation led by French urban leisure group Magnicity, a global specialist in iconic observation experiences. The project reflects the company's ongoing ambition to preserve the heritage of landmark attractions while creating new ways for visitors to experience and understand the cities they overlook.

More than a renovation, the reopening marks a new chapter for the Euromast, positioning it as the gateway to discovering Rotterdam.

The Rise of Rotterdam

A new immersive introduction to Rotterdam

The centrepiece of the new visitor experience is The Rise of Rotterdam, an immersive multimedia journey that introduces guests to more than 800 years of the city's history before they even reach the observation deck.

Combining large-scale projections, light, sound and interactive installations, the experience explores Rotterdam's origins, its remarkable post-war reconstruction and its emergence as one of Europe's leading capitals of contemporary architecture.

Developed by Magnicity in collaboration with Dutch creative partners, the experience reflects the group's belief that the best way to appreciate a city is first to understand what makes it unique.

With this transformation, Magnicity further strengthens Rotterdam's cultural and tourism offer while demonstrating how iconic landmarks can evolve without losing their identity.

"At Magnicity, we believe iconic landmarks are far more than observation decks-they are ambassadors for their cities. Our role is to preserve their heritage while continuously reimagining the visitor experience. With the rebirth of the Euromast, we wanted to create something more immersive, more local and more contemporary, while staying true to Rotterdam's creative spirit" said Alexia Vettier, CEO of Magnicity.

Since joining the Magnicity portfolio in 2020, the Euromast has undergone a gradual transformation that has carefully respected both its architectural heritage and its historical significance. The renovation unveiled today represents the most significant milestone in that journey.

Where heritage meets contemporary design

Designed by celebrated Dutch architect Huig Maaskant, one of the leading figures behind Rotterdam's post-war reconstruction, the Euromast has been renovated with great respect for its original architectural vision.

The panoramic brasserie has been completely redesigned by Spring Architecten drawing inspiration from Maaskant's original concept while introducing a warm, contemporary and sustainable interior. Historic split-level seating has been reinstated, ensuring every table enjoys an exceptional view across the city.

The project perfectly illustrates Magnicity's philosophy: allowing iconic places to evolve while safeguarding the character that makes them timeless.

The best way to understand Rotterdam is from above

A global port city driven by innovation, Rotterdam is celebrated for its bold architecture, world-class museums, dynamic food scene and vibrant creative culture. Almost entirely rebuilt after the Second World War, the city has transformed architecture into one of its defining identities.

To truly understand Rotterdam, visitors need to see it from above.

From the Euromast's panoramic platform, located 185 metres above the city, visitors enjoy sweeping views across the River Maas, Rotterdam's striking skyline, its newest districts and internationally renowned architectural landmarks. On clear days, the view stretches as far as The Hague. Guests can then continue to the tower's highest point aboard the Euroscoop the rotating glass elevator reaching 185 metres.

Today, the Euromast offers far more than spectacular views.

Its newly redesigned brasserie showcases Rotterdam's multicultural character through contemporary cuisine featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Visitors can also extend their stay in one of two exclusive suites located 100 metres above the city, enjoying private access to the observation deck after the monument has closed to the public.

For thrill-seekers, the Euromast also offers one of the Netherlands' most unique adventures: abseiling down the outside of the tower.
