Inside ALCHEMY: A Closer Look at the 19 Designs in ART+LOOM and Manifeste Edition's Collection

Following ALCHEMY's debut, ART+LOOM and Manifeste Edition are sharing a closer look at the collection's 19 furniture designs. The collection spans seven seating pieces, five tables and consoles, and seven stools and benches.

The stones are the starting point. ALCHEMY uses natural stones including Calacatta Viola, Green Onyx, Rosso Levanto, Grand Noir Antique and Prada Green, along with marble and travertine. They pair these with velvet, woven fabric, wood, metal, and translucent acrylic so that no single material dominates a piece.

Samantha Gallacher, founder of Art+Loom, and Anaïs Fillau, founder of Manifeste Edition, developed the collection. Gallacher brings her background in rugs and textiles; Fillau brings her expertise in natural stone. Working in different mediums, the two found a shared approach built on craftsmanship, material integrity and quality over quantity, letting the materials guide each design.

"This collaboration challenged us to pair that softness with the permanence of stone," says Samantha Gallacher. "What emerged wasn't a contrast, but a conversation."

See Art+Loom's Newest Collab with Artist Katrien Van Der Schueren

Art+Loom has partnered with Los Angeles-based sculptural artist Katrien Van Der Schueren on a collection of six handwoven rugs that translate her exploration of material, texture, and form into functional works of art. Crafted in wool and silk, each design draws from an original artwork, preserving its sculptural relief, movement, and irregularity while bringing Van Der Schueren's tactile language into a new medium.
