| | | | S2H is proud to announce its collaboration with Belgian-born sculptural artist Katrien Van Der Schueren, whose immersive, materially driven works take center stage this spring with two major showcases in Miami and Paris. Katrien Van Der Schueren is a self-taught sculptural artist based in Los Angeles. Her work combines a deep respect for artistic tradition with a distinctly contemporary voice, unfolding through curiosity, intuition, and a constant spirit of discovery. Cultural encounters, landscapes, and lived environments continually inform her evolving perspective and creative process. |

| | | | An Intuitive Dialogue with Material Material experimentation lies at the heart of her practice. For Katrien, sculpture unfolds through an intuitive, almost subconscious dialogue with material; where shaping, adding, and removing gradually reveal the form a work is meant to become. Working across sculpture, lighting, and large-scale murals, she approaches wood, stone, clay, metal, resin, plaster, and composite media as collaborators, allowing each material to guide the form as it emerges. Bridging refined technique with a state of surrender to the unknown, her process is guided by touch and instinct, coaxing tactile surfaces into monumental yet poetic expressions. A new body of work developed over the past three years has brought renewed attention to her practice, positioning Katrien as an emerging voice on the contemporary art scene. Sought after for her ability to transform architectural and spatial environments, her works move fluidly between sculpture, design, and installation. |

|
| | | | An Expanding Presence This spring marks a defining chapter in her trajectory, as her work enters two distinct yet complementary settings on the international stage. Through presentations in Miami and Paris, Katrien's sculptural pieces move into dialogue with architecture, collectible design, and a global audience of collectors and curators. These upcoming showcases underscore the growing resonance of her practice and the expanding scope of her spatial vision. |

| | | | PAD Paris at Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, France April 8-12, 2026 From April 8-12, 2026, Katrien will present with Galerie Jag at PAD Paris, held at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, France. For this edition, Katrien will unveil a new body of work centered around an ambitious mural concept titled The Ark of Us. This project introduces hidden doors embedded within a sculptural wall composition, evoking the intrigue of a cabinet de curiosité. With this gesture, Katrien expands her practice into a more experiential dimension. The wall becomes both artwork and architecture. Sculpture becomes threshold. Viewers are invited not simply to observe, but to discover. The hidden-door element is intended to evolve into a signature within her mural practice, reinforcing her position as an artist who activates space rather than decorates it. At PAD, this new direction situates her work within a broader conversation between contemporary art, collectible design, and spatial installation. |

| | | | Positioned for an International Stage Operating between European cultural depth and a Los Angeles-based perspective, Katrien has cultivated a distinctly transatlantic voice that resonates across major art and design capitals. Her selective exhibition framework and focused gallery representation underscore a practice rooted in intention, rarity, and long-term value. Since 2024, her work has been presented in several exhibitions at Onna House, further expanding her presence within influential art and design circles, while a recent feature in NOWNESS offered an intimate look into her studio practice and creative process. Katrien's sculptural practice has also led to mural collaborations with leading interior designers including Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Nicole Hollis, reflecting the natural dialogue between her work and architectural space. Her sculptures are held in important private collections, including those of Jordana Yechiel-Reubens, David and Angela Nazarian, and Lisa Perry, among others. With presentations at Una Casa Privada in Miami and PAD Paris this spring, Katrien Van Der Schueren steps into a defining moment, affirming her position as a singular presence in contemporary sculpture where material, architecture, and emotion converge with quiet authority. |
