Pulsatil Illuminates the Orient Express Corinthian

A bespoke lighting project that reimagines the spirit of the Orient Express

A new chapter of the Orient Express has set sail. Following its launch on April 29 and public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in May, the Corinthian yacht reimagines the legend of the original train at sea. Designed by Maxime d'Angeac, the vessel brings together architecture, craftsmanship, and atmosphere, with much of its luminous identity shaped through a bespoke lighting concept developed by Pulsatil.

Oreint Express Corinthian

Under d'Angeac's artistic direction, the interiors blend 1920s Art Deco references with a contemporary sensibility, expressed through rare wood veneers, leather, and marble, and brought to life by nearly 2,000 French artisans. Within this vision, lighting becomes fundamental to how the spaces are perceived.

Pulsatil conceived and produced the vast majority of the yacht's lighting, developing 471 bespoke luminaires across more than twenty designs created specifically for the Corinthian. More than a decorative layer, the lighting reveals the architecture, guides perception, enhances materiality, and creates continuity throughout the vessel.

The collection unfolds as a layered dialogue between heritage and modernity. Some pieces reinterpret the visual codes of the original Orient Express through a contemporary lens, while others stem directly from d'Angeac's designs, realized in close collaboration with Pulsatil's atelier.

Among them, the Orient Express - Suite lamp stands out for its quiet precision. Its domed, vertically segmented shade diffuses a soft, even glow, while a polished base introduces clarity and balance, translating the project's broader vision into a more intimate scale.

Developed over more than a year, each luminaire was engineered to meet the demands of a maritime environment while maintaining Pulsatil's commitment to clarity, balance, and longevity. Materials were selected for how they interact with light over time, ensuring a consistent presence as conditions shift across the yacht.

Now unveiled, the Corinthian positions lighting not as a supporting element, but as a defining narrative layer, bridging past and present to shape the experience of this new Orient Express at sea.
