HALL HAUS - PORTRAIT ©Marion Gomez |
In September 2026, Maison&Objet marks the much-anticipated return of its Design District and once again places its trust in Hall Haus, entrusting them with the keys to this unique space. Founded by Abdoulaye Niang, Sammy Bernoussi, Teddy Sanches, and Zakari Boukhari, the collective quickly established itself as one of the most vibrant faces of the young French design scene. Their signature: a living design language, enriched by scenography and artistic direction, at the crossroads of cultures. Contemporary aesthetics, sustainable commitment, and diverse narratives come together. First identified in 2021 and supported by Maison&Objet, the members of Hall Haus have since followed a rapidly rising trajectory. They have multiplied collaborations with various inspiring brands and, in 2025, entered the collections of the Mobilier National. This strong recognition reflects their unique vision, with their names now featured in the AD100 ranking. A model for the new generation. A look back at a meteoric and inspiring journey through 5 iconic pieces and key moments. |

|
| | | | MEETING WITH SAMMY BERNOUSSI, CO-FOUNDER OF HALL HAUS - DISCUSSION When does Hall Haus begin, and with which piece, what story? S.B: I would say in 2021 with the "CURRY MANGO" chair, which we chose to present surrounded by yellow walls during a residency at Lafayette Anticipations. It is a manifesto project that embodies our approach to holistic design. |

| | With HALL HAUS, there is the product, and the surrounding universe that is imagined to market it. Even the choice of the name "Curry Mango" is strategic and gives the object a distinctive flavor. This chair also has a story to tell. It is inspired both by the Quechua chair, an accessible object from popular culture, and by the P3 chair designed by Marcel Breuer, an iconic Bauhaus model. It is a piece of furniture that illustrates the bridges we create through our practice more broadly. A piece of advice for the new generation: start with a strong object, a story that anchors your identity. In a world saturated with objects, define a clear positioning, and don't forget technical expertise. |

| | | | In 2022, the "DKR" chair was created, a flagship piece in your repertoire, which you presented in January 2023 at Maison&Objet. A decisive year! |

| | S.B: The "DKR" chair reflects our African heritage, we are children of immigrants. It also shows that we always start from a context in our creative process. We knew that the Chanel show and the Dakar Art Biennale were happening at that time. We saw it as a strategic moment. It was also a way of proving that we could manage production in Africa by collaborating with a local metal workshop. Many people try and fail. The "DKR" chair entered the Mobilier National in 2025. |

|
| | | | Key takeaway for the new generation: don't forget the notion of transmission. Creating a culturally strong object is a symbol of exchange between generations and sharing knowledge. In 2023, you went to AlUla in Saudi Arabia for a residency. There you presented "HAUS DARI". S.B: This exhibition was proposed to us by the French Agency for AlUla Development and the Royal Commission for AlUla. At that time, we were beginning to be categorized as metal urban furniture designers. What attracted us to this project was taking a local cultural symbol and reinterpreting it through a contemporary design lens. We drew inspiration from the aesthetics of traditional Saudi restaurants called Al Majlis (made up of carpets with movable cushions) and from the Togo sofa, a flagship product by the publisher Ligne Roset. From these combined aesthetics emerged "HAUS DARI," a 36m² giant sofa reminiscent of the Moroccan Sedari. The project was presented in AlUla in February 2023, then in Milan during Design Week. It made a strong impression and recently entered the FD 100 ranking. |

Their advice to young designers: dare to play with the codes of a local culture. In September 2024, you once again collaborated with Paris Design Week through the creation of a tailor-made design program for Lafayette Anticipations. Does HALL HAUS have the soul of a curator? |

| | S.B: I would even say more: producers, programmers, scenographers, and site managers. We designed the HALL HAUS DESIGN DAYS program for this cultural venue from A to Z. Each floor showcased a project. We returned the invitation to AlUla by inviting them. On the first floor, we presented "SEEINGSOUNDS," a performative musical experience with various invited composers. Once again, another example of holistic design. Message to young creators: sometimes by transforming an identity, here, that of a place, you find a new audience. The public became more diverse thanks to this program designed for a contemporary art venue. Hall Haus opens up design. |

|
| | | | This programmatic approach led you to become artistic directors of the Design District in 2025, the "show within the show" at Maison&Objet. S.B: Yes, identifying innovative concepts and reaching an audience, people who consume, that resonates with us. With HALL HAUS, we embrace an identity and a statement. Sometimes we go a bit too far, and so what? Too much yellow? You know it's HALL HAUS. See you at Maison&Objet in September 2026. What I can tell you is that there will be yellow. |

| | | | STUDIO ZORAN STRIJBOSCH Studio Zoran Strijbosch is a Dutch design studio founded by the eponymous designer and based in Amsterdam. Its practice is rooted in a fascination for art history and manufacturing techniques, which are reinterpreted through a contemporary language blending industrial influences and historical references. Each piece is conceived as a narrative object, where material, gesture, and time play a central role. The studio develops high-quality handcrafted creations, often in acrylic or metal, aiming to create a dialogue between eras and offer a more sensitive experience of the object. |
BELHARRA DESIGN Belharra Design is a French sustainable furniture brand inspired by the Ocean, placing eco-design at the heart of its approach. Produced in France in small series, its creations combine craftsmanship and sustainable materials, seeking a balance between aesthetics and responsibility. Between local craftsmanship and contemporary design, the brand develops a refined and sensitive language, guided by a strong attention to materiality and the living world. Belharra Design offers a more conscious vision of furniture, where each piece invites us to rethink our relationship with the sea and natural resources. |
VOOMA VOOMA is a French design studio that develops audio objects with a strong visual identity, where color and form play a central role. The brand explores a sensitive approach to speakers as decorative objects, designed to fit into contemporary interiors while asserting a sculptural presence. Between technology and object design, VOOMA emphasizes careful production, focusing on finishes and sound experience, with a clear intention to bring performance and aesthetics into dialogue through accessible and expressive pieces. |
