| | | | IN MATERIA: A JOURNEY INTO THE ESSENCE OF MATERIALS January 15-19, 2026 - Maison&Objet |
| | |
| |
|
| | | | Elizabeth Leriche's IN MATERIA space invites us to rethink our relationship with objects at the entrance to the Fine Craft sector, with a selection of unique pieces or small series, exclusively crafted in art workshops. Designed by the artistic director, this space offers a sensory immersion into the heart of materials. Wood, fiber, glass, earth, and stone become territories for exploration, revealing new imaginations and a renewed approach to objects. Organized around four themes - GERMA, TERRA, FUSIO, and CRYPTA - this journey highlights the transformation of materials, the power of human gesture, and the poetry of craftsmanship.

| | | | GERMA : the rise of material |
| | |
| |
|
| | | | In GERMA, Elizabeth Leriche envisions matter in growth, activated by light and water. Fibers intertwine, shapes emerge, and forms stretch upward in an organic, poetic movement. Wool, wicker, wood, textiles-even roots-appear to come alive, evoking expanding landscapes such as dunes, reeds, and fertile soils. GERMA celebrates emergence, the union of natural elements, and the vitality of what comes into being.

| | | | TERRA : a return to the earth |
| | |
| |
|
| | | | TERRA highlights matter in its most raw and solid state-dense, grounded, and shaped by the hand at the very moment it rises from its territory. Stone, clay, and fertile earth give birth to primitive forms, as if carved directly from the humus or the rock itself. TERRA pays tribute to material in its purest essence, ready to become object even before refinement or transformation. |

|
| | | | With FUSIO, material is shown in the midst of metamorphosis, seized by the intense power of fire. Heat cracks, oxidizes, blackens, and reshapes, revealing surfaces marked by bold red tones and deep black striations. Evoking volcanic territories, deserts, and molten landscapes, FUSIO expresses the tension between strength and fragility, destruction and creation. |

|
| | | | CRYPTA : the secrets beneath |
| | |
| |
|
| | | | CRYPTA invites visitors below the surface, into underground worlds where stone and glass hold their secrets. Brilliance, color, transparency, precious density-these materials, shaped by time, await the artisan's gesture to reveal their hidden beauty. CRYPTA celebrates the encounter between mystery and mastery, where raw material becomes radiance. |
