Franck Genser introduces Scarf

A bespoke seating collection wrapped in form and feeling

Recently unveiled at Salone del Mobile, Scarf is the latest seating collection by Franck Genser, a fully customizable design available as a sofa, armchair, and lounge chair. Shaped by fluid curves and a sensuous silhouette, Scarf redefines comfort through precision and poetic form.

Rather than conforming to trend, Scarf articulates a timeless design language: fluid, enveloping, and quietly architectural. The defining gesture of the collection is a continuous, sweeping backrest that curves around the seating volume with sculptural precision. More than a formal flourish, this gesture organizes space, articulating the relationship between mass and void, surface and support. The result is seating that evokes both visual movement and spatial containment.

Comprising three sofas, a lounge, and an armchair, Scarf privileges thoughtful form over stylistic excess. Proportions are generous but never indulgent, maintaining a clarity of purpose and a grounded sense of comfort. The frame, made from oak, is paired with memory foam cushioning and upholstered in stretch chenille by Pierre Frey, a fabric chosen for its ability to conform seamlessly to the collection's intricate geometry. The near absence of visible seams or folds emphasizes the sculptural unity of the piece.

Like the gentle drape of fabric over the shoulders, Scarf offers a tactile, protective embrace. But true to Franck Genser's ethos, where form springs from emotional resonance and the interplay between human and environment.

Driven by a sensitive aesthetic, Franck Genser does not hesitate to blend different exceptional skills to create a piece. He particularly works with noble materials that will develop a patina over time, such as walnut, parchment, marble, and Japanese lacquer.

This unique approach results in objects brimming with emotion. They fit into a heritage perspective, serving as a current and future testimony of our era.
