More than 5,000 custom-made pieces for the world's largest sailing yacht. With the Corinthian project, Giobagnara brings the expertise it has developed in the private superyacht sector to a rapidly growing new category: ultra-luxury travel experiences inspired by the world of yachting.

Some projects are destined to become defining symbols of their time. The Orient Express Corinthian is one of them.

Conceived from the vision of Orient Express and designed to redefine the boundaries between hospitality, design, and seafaring, the world's largest sailing yacht is far more than a new vessel-it is a manifesto for the transformation reshaping the luxury industry today. A transformation that is making travel an increasingly immersive, culturally rich, and deeply distinctive experience.

It is within this context that Giobagnara's contribution takes shape. The only Italian brand in its category selected for this distinctly French-led project, the maison joins some of the world's foremost names in hospitality, design, and shipbuilding. Under the creative direction of internationally acclaimed architect and designer Maxime d'Angeac, Artistic Director of Orient Express, the Corinthian reinterprets the golden age of the great transatlantic liners and the legendary Orient Express train through a contemporary design language defined by understated elegance, refined decoration, and meticulous attention to detail.

Over the course of more than a year, the Genoa-based maison designed and produced more than 5,000 pieces created exclusively for the Corinthian: a comprehensive collection of bespoke furnishings, objects, and custom solutions that enhance every aspect of the onboard experience-from the suites and shared spaces to the bathrooms and games room, as well as highly technical elements such as folding tables and accessories engineered to meet the specific demands of life at sea.

Working in dialogue with Maxime d'Angeac's creative vision, Giobagnara helped bring this world to life through a collection of bespoke pieces distinguished by refined color palettes, noble materials, and a meticulous focus on tactile experience. Together, these elements integrate seamlessly into an environment that celebrates craftsmanship, the art of travel, and the excellence of contemporary artisanal making.

More than a supplier, Giobagnara played a defining role in shaping the very identity of the vessel, helping establish a new language for contemporary luxury travel.

What makes this project particularly remarkable is the architect's decision to embrace an entirely bespoke approach in a context that, given its scale and complexity, could easily have been executed using conventional international contract manufacturing processes.

Every Giobagnara creation was designed specifically for the project, the result of a process that combines exceptional craftsmanship, material innovation, and technical expertise developed through years of creating bespoke solutions for some of the world's most prestigious hospitality, yachting, and luxury transportation projects. Rather than relying on standardization, this approach prioritizes quality and customization, delivering a travel experience that is both unique and unmistakably distinctive.

THE ONLY ITALIAN BRAND IN ITS CATEGORY WITHIN A DISTINCTLY FRENCH PROJECT

Giobagnara's participation carries a symbolic significance that extends well beyond the realm of design.

Within a project led by some of France's most prestigious names in luxury and hospitality, the maison is the only Italian brand in its category selected to play a structural role in shaping the onboard experience.

This recognition underscores the strength of Made in Italy at the highest end of the global market-not through large-scale industrial production, but through the excellence of its specialized craftsmanship, the quality of its artisanal manufacturing, and its ability to deliver projects with the highest level of customization.

"Contributing to the new Orient Express sailing yacht project is both a privilege and a recognition of the journey Giobagnara has built over the past twenty-seven years. Bringing our craftsmanship and manufacturing expertise to an initiative of this scale and complexity-and contributing to so many aspects of the onboard experience-is an immense source of pride. It confirms that the true value of Italian craftsmanship lies in its ability to transform an ambitious vision into a tangible experience."

- Giorgio Bagnara, founder and CEO

FROM PRIVATE YACHTING TO YACHT HOSPITALITY: THE MARKET REDEFINING LUXURY TRAVEL

Giobagnara's involvement in the Corinthian project also reflects the profound shifts reshaping today's luxury yachting and hospitality industries. In recent years, the luxury market has seen the emergence of a fast-growing new category: experiences that translate the intimacy, level of service, and aesthetic codes of the private superyacht into hospitality concepts designed for a niche international clientele seeking ever more exclusive and immersive ways to travel.

The Corinthian is among the world's first examples of this new generation of projects. With its 54 suites, human-scale approach to hospitality, and vision that brings together naval innovation, hospitality, and design, it represents a new category of luxury travel-one that draws on the codes of the private superyacht to reinvent the contemporary cruise experience.

For Giobagnara, whose expertise is firmly established through some of the world's most prestigious yachting projects, this collaboration marks a significant strategic milestone. The craftsmanship the maison has developed in the private yachting sector now finds a new field of expression within an emerging market at the intersection of marine travel, hospitality, and lifestyle-one with exceptional growth potential.

This journey is set to continue well beyond the Corinthian. Giobagnara has already secured its role aboard the Orient Express Olympian, the sister ship currently under construction, further strengthening its position within one of the most closely watched projects on the international stage.

More than simply a presence onboard, Giobagnara represents a distinct vision of luxury-one shaped by meticulous attention to detail, a deep culture of craftsmanship, and the ability to transform exceptional artisanal expertise into a universal contemporary language. It is an Italian vision that is now charting a course toward a new frontier in luxury travel.
